Upload main image here: ![]() It´s a big blow to have Steve Howard out of the side ![]() ![]() | What a frustrating night it was against Brighton on Tuesday. We had more than enough chances to win the game but just couldn´t take them. For my part it was a bad night as I had my fair share of opportunities. The good thing is we´ve still got a big lead at the top despite dropping two points at home. You always feel disappointed as a striker when you have nights when the ball won´t go in, you wouldn´t be human if you didn´t. The positive I take out of it is that I was getting into the positions to miss. I´d feel worse about it if I´d had a game when I didn´t even have a sniff of a goal. It´s been mentioned that Steve Howard being out was a big blow for us and I´d have to agree. We have good players to come in and we made enough chances to win without him but the sheer size and physical presence of Steve is something you can´t really replace. We´re not a route one team but Steve´s always an outlet if we need him. Tuesday night was one of the few games he´s not played this season so we´re not really used to going onto the pitch without him. Perhaps we need to adapt our game when he´s not playing and delay the ball forward a little bit. We´ve still got a big lead at the top despite dropping two points at home![]() Our lead at the top is now ten points after MK Dons lost to Leyton Orient. They were right on our tails for a while but they´re going through a bit of a sticky patch at the minute. Now we´re out in front and there´s a chasing pack behind us. We´re a long way from taking things for granted though. Anything can change over the rest of the season; teams have squandered bigger leads and sides from mid-table have made late dashes to clinch promotion so it´s very much all to play for. Now I´m just concentrated on Northampton on Saturday and hopefully a couple of the chances will go in! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
