Walsall cheers were great to hear

I celebrated my goal against my old club but kept it respectful
I´d like to say thanks to all the Walsall fans who sang my name on Tuesday night. Their side were 4-0 down at the time and they´ve had a tough season so I would have understood if they´d got on my back a bit, but to cheer me was fantastic. I was really touched. I left the club a few years ago now but I´d like to think they remembered the hard work I put in while I was there.

It was nice to go back but there aren´t many faces on the playing staff that I remember from my days as a Sadler and the management team has all changed so it was just the fans that were the same. I scored the first goal to put us on our way to a convincing win. I know a lot of players don´t celebrate when they score against their old clubs but I think a goal is always something to celebrate. The important thing is not to go over the top and be disrespectful to the fans who used to cheer you on every week.

It was the first time we´ve really dominated a game in a while and really put a side to the sword. It was no mean feat either, considering Walsall had beaten Leeds in their previous game. To be 2-0 up at half time gave us a great platform. From then on the next goal was going to decide the game and we got it early in the second half. From then on we dominated. Tom Cleverley, who´s on loan from Manchester United, had an excellent game for us. It´s hard to say whether he´ll make it at a club as big as United but the way he´s been playing for us won´t do his chances any harm. He´s fought his way into a winning team and that´s not an easy thing to do.

Wayne Brown´s another player we´ve got on loan. He´s just arrived from Hull City and he came on for the last 15 minutes on Tuesday night. I think it´s a good signing. We needed more competition at the back and Wayne brings a lot of experience with him. He won promotion from the Championship with Hull last year and he knows this league inside out.
